Our Birthday Boys today were PE Adrian, we sang the Birthday song to him, and President Michael presented a bottle of Red Wine to him as Birthday gift.
Our speaker today was Ms. Caroline Rhodes and her topic was “The Emotional Freedom Technique”. Caroline Rhodes is the founder of the physiotherapy and wellness clinic The Body Group. She has more than 25 years of clinical experience working with patients with pain, dysfunction and illness. After graduating from university with a degree in physical therapy, Caroline pursued many forms of therapies and found that Emotional Freedom Technique was the answer she was looking for to transform one’s health.
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) breathes fresh air into the emotional therapy process by borrowing from the Chinese meridian system. While acupuncture, acupressure and the like have been primarily focused on physical ailments, EFT stands back from this ancient process and points it directly at emotional issues. It is dramatically different from conventional therapy practices and that is why it often works where nothing else will.
EFT is an emotional version of acupuncture, except we don’t use needles. Instead, we use a simple two pronged process wherein we (1) “tune in” to specific issues while (2) stimulating certain meridian points on the body by tapping on them with our fingertips. Properly done, EFT balances any disturbances in the meridian system and thus reduces the conventional therapy procedures from months or years down to minutes or hours. Further, the process is very portable and learnable by almost everyone. No special education is required. Even children have produced beginner’s benefits with it.
Caroline showed us how “Tapping” works for pain relief for Rtn Jim and gave us a lot of information about EFT.
Our Sergeant, PP Peter Barrett collected HK$790 for raffle and fines, Caroline draw the raffle gift as a book “Brain Power” and the winners were Rtn William.
