As one of the District Conference organisation committee members, PP Peter showed us the programme and other information for the 53rd District Conference.
This evening, our club hosted three of the Interact Schools we sponsor: Hong Kong International School, Canadian International School and West Island School. District Interact Committee Chair, PP Rosa Pang also joined us with two students from Joint Interact Council.
Interact President Chris from the Canadian International School presented us their projects, which were Coastal Clean Up and Walk for Breast Cancer in October 2012, Family Fun Fair in November 2012, Single Elderly Visit with our Club in December 2012, Famine 10 and conservation project with Ocean Park in March 2013.
Tammy and Tiffany from West Island School presented to us their efforts, which were, joining our club for our trip to visit single elderly people, engaging with children at the Duchess of Kent, and their work at our Adopt-a-School, Aplichau Kaifong Primary School to help them to read and understand Shakespeare. Their major event this year will be the Charity Concert “Amplified”, sponsored by our Club to raise money for their service projects.
Nathan from Hong Kong International School presented their project. They hold a charity fashion show every year—this year’s will be held on 27 April 2013.
PP Rosa with two students from Joint Interact Council presented their project, which was setting up and running a stall at the Victoria Park for the Chinese New Year to raise money for Rotary projects.
President Michael presented our club’s community service project and invited all attendees to join our projects, for example our sustainable seafood project with Ocean Park.
We collected HK$1,320 for raffle and fines; President Michael drew the lucky raffle prize and Marylin from West Island School won a bottle of black truffle olive oil.
