Dinner meeting: Rtn Dr William Yam on the management of lower back pain

We had two programmes at our 18 March dinner meeting. The first speaker was our own Rtn Dr. William Yam, who spoke about ā€œProper sitting and Lifting as Related to the Management of Lower Back Pain Syndrome.ā€ The definition of good posture is that of muscular and skeletal balance that protects the supporting structure of the body against injury by (1) maintaining the natural curvature of the spinal column (2) minimizing the muscle activities of related areas (3) minimizing the disc pressure of the lumbar spine. Everyone listening shifted in their seats accordingly.
