Regular lunch meeting with speaker Nir Poleg: "Israel's 6 day war"

Today, we had PP Peter Barrett as our birthday boy, as usual, we sang the birthday song and presented a bottle of red wine to him. 
We had Robin de Morgan Putting Competition before lunch meeting.  PP Mike Burrell droved his classic car “Triumph” to Golf Club and all Putters had a photo with the car.  We had six Putters joined the competition, they were PP Peter Barrett, Ms. Jessica Li, DDS Francesco, VP Rebecca, PP Mike and Rtn Charles.  President Martin presented the prize for the last one, Jessica with a Polo Shirt.  DDS Francesco got hole in one and was the first runner up, the winner was PP Mike.  DDS Francesco as the defending champion presented the Robin de Morgan Cup to PP Mike.
The speakers today was Mr. Nir Poleg, his topic was “A (brief) Overview of the Political and Military Dilemmas Facing Israel”.  Nir, originally from Tel Aviv, Israel, is a current full-time MBA student at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, focusing on finance and doing business in China. Previously, for the past three and a half years, Nir was working as an attorney at a leading Israeli corporate and securities law firm on cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions and follow-on offerings, representing NASDAQ and Tel Aviv Stock Exchange listed companies. In this position, he had the chance to work with the SEC and counterparts from the US, Europe and China, helping secure investments and transaction totaling more than 1 billion US dollars. Prior to that, Nir completed his military service in an elite airborne intelligence unit of the Israeli Defense Forces and managed a 24-hour counter-terrorism war-room at the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office for another two years. Nir holds a degree in law and political science from Tel Aviv University and is a member of the Israeli Bar Association.
Nir will introduced the Geography, Demography, Government and Politics of Israel to us.  Israel established on May 15, 1948 in Middle East, their area is 21,671 square kilometres with 8 million people, which consist 80% Jewish, 16% Muslim, 2% Christian and 2% other.  The Prime Minister since 2009 is Benjamin Netanyahu.  Nir also told us the history and the difficulties Israel facing.
We collected HK$1,230 for raffle and fines.  Rtn Paul got the raffle prizes as a bottle of red wine.
